CRY OUT AMERICA AND PRAY TO OUR GOD FOR OUR COUNTRY

Portia --

We believe it is imperative that God’s people come together to pray for our nation today!  The critical challenges facing America and the culture at large call for faithful, persevering intercession – not only on the National Day of Prayer, but throughout the year.  Scripture provides abundant evidence that the Lord is attentive to our cries and that He moves powerfully in response to the fervent and contrite prayers of His children.  As Martin Luther once said, “Prayer is not overcoming God’s reluctance, but laying hold of His willingness.”
What comfort and encouragement are available in the assurance that our sovereign God is attuned to our pleas, that He waits to intervene on our behalf, and that He is “mighty to save” (Zephaniah 3:17).  Bearing those wonderful truths in mind, may we continue to seek the Lord’s blessing and protection upon our beloved land during these crucial days that will impact the direction of our country for generations to come.
At this perilous and uncertain juncture in our country’s history, it is critical that we remain in prayer!  The American people continue to be plagued with challenges that defy simple answers, and our hope lies in humbly seeking the Almighty’s guidance, protection, and blessing. In II Chronicles 7:14, the Lord tells His people that He will respond to their contrite and heartfelt cries of intercession.  Please join our Task Force in endeavoring to spark a revival of prayer throughout our country.  There is no better time than this!  It is the hope for America!
Please take a few moments to agree with us in prayer … “Lord, we live in a diverse country with blends of many cultures, faiths and values.  In an age when partisanship seems to pervade all aspects of American life, it seems as though the polarizing of people in the realm of culture and politics only continues to widen, deepen and become more and more strained.
Instead of actual discussions about the real issues of our day, there is anger and loud, unyielding opposition.  I pray that the power of Your Holy Spirt would move among us and tear down the barriers that divide us.  May You breathe upon us and instill in us a desire for unity and agreement through a spirit of mutual respect and brotherly love.
Forgive us for any discrimination, cynicism, or superior attitudes we may have harbored in our hearts.  I ask You to help my own heart to be free to bring peace to others, to work together with others who don’t share my perspective and to make a difference in the world.  Help me, help us, Father, to be a force for unity and not for disharmony.   Amen.”

BREAKING #NEWS FOR ALL WHO WILL TAKE A STAND IJN

The movie "Corpus Christi "is due to be released this June to August. It is a disgusting film set to appear in America later this year which depicts Jesus and his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in theaters for a while. It's called "Corpus Christi" which means "The Body of Christ". It's a revolting mockery of our Lord. But we Christians can make a difference. That's why I am sending this e-mail to you. If you do send this around, we just might be abl e to prevent this film from being shown in Australia, Canada and America etc. Let's stand for what we believe and stop the mockery of Jesus Christ our Savior. Where do we stand as Christians? I am forwarding this to all I think will respect and appreciate being informed. Please help us prevent such offenses against our Lord. There is no petition to sign, no time limit, or minimum number of people to send this to. It will take you less than 2 minutes! If you are not int

162. Church: leadership; Church: government; Leaders: spiritual need I believe that it might be accepted as a fairly reliable rule of thumb that the man who is ambitious to lead is disqualified as a leader. The Church of the Firstborn is no place for the demagogue or the petty religious dictator. The true leader will have no wish to lord it over God's heritage, but will be humble, gentle, self-sacrificing and altogether as ready to follow as to lead when the Spirit makes it plain to him that a wiser and more gifted man than himself has appeared. It is undoubtedly true, as I have said so often, that the church is languishing not for leaders but for the right kind of leaders; for the wrong kind is worse than none at all. Better to stand still than to follow a blind man over a precipice. History will show that the church has prospered most when blessed with strong leaders and suffered the greatest decline when her leaders were weak and time serving. The sheep rarely go much farther

712. Leaders: spiritual need; Church: leadership Conformity to the Word of God is always right, but obedience to religious leaders is good only if those leaders prove themselves worthy to lead. Leadership in the church of Christ is a spiritual thing and should be so understood by everyone. It takes more than a ballot to make a leader.... If the church is to prosper spiritually she must have spiritual leadership, not leadership by majority vote. It is highly significant that when the apostle Paul found it necessary to ask for obedience among the young churches he never appealed to them on the grounds that he had been duly elected to office. He asserted his authority as an apostle appointed by the Head of the church. He held his position by right of sheer spiritual ascendancy, the only earthly right that should be honored among the children of the new creation.
